LAMBORGHINI DIABLO PRIMA

LAMBORGHINI DIABLO PRIMA

The study of the Diablo dates back to 1985, when the manufacturer decided to replace the Countach model. Designed by Italian designer Marcello Gandini of the Bertone Style Center, it is the only Lamborghini born under the Chrysler era, which became Lamborghini's parent company in 1987. Chrysler's general management had the bodywork plans "very slightly" retouched by the Chrysler Styling Center, which explains why the model remained in the making for almost five years. Its name, "Diablo", as is the tradition established by the creator Ferruccio Lamborghini, refers to a bull. It is linked to the legend of El Diablo ("the Devil" in French), a bull raised by the Duke of Veragua who fought an epic battle against José Lara Jiménez, known as "El Chicorro", on July 11, 1869 in the bullring in Madrid. Its characteristics are an aluminum chassis and body, a V12 engine with 5.7 L displacement, 492 horsepower, torque of 580 N m at 5,500 rpm and all-wheel drive, all for a weight of 1,600 kg. empty. With 325 km/h, it took up the challenge of becoming the fastest supercar in the world in the early 1990s, ahead of the Ferrari F40 and the Porsche 959.
